Summer Worship

E.C.O. - Episcopalians Celebrating Outdoors

During the warm months we take advantage of the waters God has given us and we gather for kayaking and potluck suppers.  These gatherings end with a simple Evening Prayer service.  E.C.O. gatherings are casual and a great way to invite new friends to join our congregation.  Stay turned for dates and times.  We will generally do one per month and on different waterways in our area.

Mass on the Grass  - June 30

The last  Sunday of June we have Holy Eucharist Rite I at 8am and then we celebrate Independence Day with Mass on the Grass, an outdoor service held at Abingdon with Ware and Kingston church joining us at 10:30 am.  Bring a chair or blanket to this service.

This service is followed by a traditional potluck picnic under our large outdoor shade tent, with games and activities for the whole family. Come enjoy old-fashioned fun like potato sack race and ring toss, and wear your red, white and blues to mark the occasion.

July 2019

During the month of July, there is one combined Sunday service which is held at 9:30am.

On July 28, we follow the worship of Morning Prayer.

August 2019

On all Sundays in August we have two services.  8am Rite I and 10:30 Rite II with fellowship and refreshments between the services.

On August 18, the Rt. Rev. Susan Goff, Suffragan Bishop of Virginia visits Kingston and Abingdon for a combined service of confirmation.
