Adult Choir

The adult choir is the main provider and leader of music in the Abingdon worship service.  With membership exceeding twenty adult voices, the Adult Choir graces us with beautiful hymns and anthems at every Sunday 10:30 worship service and on special occasions during the year. We have had the pleasure of singing  Durufle’s Requiem with an English Boychoir and participating in a choir workshop directed by a well-known conductor from England.  Our primary literature is based on the classical repertoire with some gospel, contemporary, with old favorites mixed in.

Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.

Children's Choir

The children's choir is perhaps the most special choir within our church.   Whenever they bless us with their songs, every member of our congregation listens intently as our children combine their angelic young voices to praise God in song together.   They sing five to six times a school year and rehearse weekly, very enthusiastically, for 30 minutes on Thursdays from

Handbell Choir

Affectionately referring to themselves as The Ding-a-lings, Abingdon's Handbell Choir plays both a beautiful, three-octave set of Schulmerich handbells and three-octave set of chimes. The handbell choir prepares about six pieces each year for the 10:30 worship service and accompanies the choir on some additional Sundays. This group is open to anyone with even a very basic grounding in reading music who can count (really!). It is a wonderful group of people who have fun as they make music.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00.
