| Setting a course for the
future of our church and performing the often demanding tasks of
church budgeting, daily business operations, and general
decision-making are the responsibility of our vestry.
Our vestry, often called elders or a council in other
churches, consists of 12 members of our church community that have
heard the call to service and undertaken the challenge of performing
as vestry members. Vestry members are elected to office for a three-year term by the
congregation. These three-year terms are staggered so that
each year we hold elections for one-third of the vestry seats.
In addition to our elected vestry members are the positions of
Treasurer, Chancellor, and Financial Secretary. These
positions do not have set terms of service. Treasurer,
Chancellor, and Financial Secretary positions are vestry
appointments. Trustees are also appointed to provide
additional oversight and guidance for church activities.
And, since we are in the process of seeking a new rector, we have
established a Profile Task Force and a Search Committee. The
Task Force is charged with research, surveying the congregation, and
then developing a Parish Profile. The Search Committee
will use the data from the Profile Task Force and will seek out
rector candidates that match up to our parish goals, culture, and
needs.
