Welcome to

Welcome to Abingdon
Episcopal Church's web site. The goal of this web site
is to provide visitors and members of our congregation with a
comprehensive source about Abingdon and it's people.
Although, for the
most part, Episcopalians are conservative folks, the
congregation of Abingdon is a unique blend of conservative and
liberal viewpoints. In short, we are diverse individuals
united as one strong and caring church through the knowledge
and love of Jesus.
We are a Eucharistic
people, worshipping and celebrating together as a family. Our
ministries are strong and dynamic, each contributing in its own way
to promoting a message of fellowship, support and love to our
members and the community of the world we live in.

|
| Our
colonial church is one of the most beautiful in the country and
contributes immensely to our joy in worship. It promotes a
strong sense of history and common prayer that has existed for
centuries. We strive to reach out to our community and one
another in crisis and need, taking the mission of our parish to
heart. To know Christ and his love and to affirm his ministry
by reaching out with love to the needs of our parish family and our
community. We are reverent and somewhat conservative when it
comes to our history and our traditions. We respect the right
of all people to possess and promote new ideas and new
viewpoints. We are staunch defenders of our members, our
church, our community, and our nation.
And, although we fondly
embrace our past, we are not 'trapped' by it. We strive to be
progressive in our thoughts and actions. As you explore this
site, you will find that we participate in our local and global
community in many ways. The total number of programs and
activities our congregation supports are too numerous to list on
this page or the remaining pages of this web site. But, to
give you an idea of our multi-faceted programs and outreach
activities, here is a cross-section of some of our more visible
programs or areas of outreach participation. You can learn
more about each topic by visiting our Ministry and Outreach
pages. |

And...please stop by
