Education For Ministry

Education for Ministry is a four-year program designed to provide theological study and reflection rooted in the Scriptures and traditions of the Church. The purpose of the program is to lead participants into their ministries in the world. (It is not a program for those who wish to be ordained ministers.)The EFM website at https://theology.sewanee.edu/education-for-ministry/ provides a wealth of information on the program, its mission, and an outline of the course of study for all four years.

The seminar group is the nucleus of the Education for Ministry program. A group consists of six to twelve participants and a trained mentor who meet weekly over the course of a nine-month academic year. These meetings are usually from two and a half to three hours in length. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings. Tuition is $350 per year which includes all books.

For information about how to join the class, call the office and ask for the Rev. Jen Kimball.
